Jill Palmer
Jill Palmer became a qualified solicitor in 1984 after training with another local firm and her father Roy. She joined the firm shortly after – being the youngest female solicitor in a mixed practice partnership.
Jill has specialised in residential property since she qualified and is head of the department. Her wealth of experience guarantees her clients a close attention to detail, along with a superb working knowledge of all areas of property law. Jill has acted on a broad range of transactions, including Transfers of Equity, Remortgage, Freehold and Leasehold purchases, Assents and Land transfers, Right of Way and Boundary queries. Jill has a particular interest in equestrian property.
Sara Palmer
Sara joined the firm in 1993 as an articled clerk to her sister Jill and qualified as a solicitor in 1995. Since then she has acted for a broad range of clients in all areas of general commercial property transactions, acquisitions and disposals of office industrial and retail properties. Her particular area of expertise is acting for both landlords and tenants in negotiating commercial property leases and other ancillary issues such as licences to underlet, alter and assign. She has particular expertise and experience in acting for retail tenants working closely with their shopfitting and project management teams. She also acts for a number of landlords with portfolios and investment properties which include management issues.
Roy Palmer
Roy has a wealth of experience in all types of land development and commercial property transactions. As the founder member of the firm he has always taken great pride in providing a service to each client which is second to none. Combining a practical common sense approach to resolving issues, many years experience in his speciality and fine attention to detail with his speciality personal service and a good dose of humour he is a hard act to follow. Roy also has considerable and numerous years experience in other private client matters such as Tax, Trusts, Wills and Probate.
Roy is the Chairman of a public company and a past President of the Bedfordshire Law Society.
Yagnesh Shah
Yagnesh trained and qualified with an international real estate lead law firm in the City of London. Before joining Palmers Solicitors Bedford Limited, trading as Palmers Solicitors , on 1st March 2012, he was a partner in the Milton Keynes office of a leading Northamptonshire based law firm.
Yagnesh specialises in all aspects of commercial property matters ranging from land development, landlord and tenant (acting for institutional landlords and occupational tenants on leasing matters) and commercial property related portfolio acquisitions and disposals. He also advises banks on secured lending matters. He has experience in handling complex and demanding property development projects advising both developers and land owners acquiring or disposing of sites for residential or commercial development including option agreements, contracts conditional upon planning or related matters and uplift/overage/clawback agreements.
David Walker
David is the Head of our Private Client Department and he specialises in Probate cases. David has over 30 years’ experience in dealing with Probate and Estate Administration and the associated taxation implications which can arise.
David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since being admitted in 2009 and is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners)
In his career David has worked for H M Revenue and Customs, Accountancy firms , and also qualified as a Financial Advisor.
David aims to assist bereaved clients in a caring and efficient manner when helping them in the Probate process and the Administration of the Estate.
Malcolm Day
Malcolm is a qualified conveyancing executive in our residential conveyancing department and has over 40 years’ experience in residential conveyancing.
Malcolm has a wealth of experience in conveyancing having previously worked for a national house builder.
Malcolm offers a thorough and conscientious approach to what is often the major transaction in a client's life.
Veronica D’Anna
Veronica is a solicitor in the Private Client Department and deals with all matters concerning Probate, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications.
Veronica also speaks Italian and can therefore assist the local Italian community.
Veronica has successfully completed the STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Certificate in Trusts and Estates.
Jazzmin Spencer
Jazzmin is a Legal Executive governed by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, an Affiliated member of STEP, a member of the ALA (Agricultural Law Association), an Affiliated member of The Society of Will Writers and holds a current membership with Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
Jazzmin possesses a wealth of knowledge and her expertise within her 15 plus years career has been to provide advice and guidance on bespoke Wills, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters, Estate and Trust Administration and offers Inheritance and Estate Planning advice.
Jazzmin was previously Vice Chair of the Northamptonshire Buckingham and Bedfordshire JLD Law Division, as well as holding the junior seat on the Northamptonshire Law Society board.
